if you hear someone havingng an emotional moment in the bathroom and crying in a closed stall the best thing you can do for them in that moment is shake the door really loud and growl
this doesnt seem like a popular opinion on here but sometimes i like when characters die. sometimes its needed to raise the stakes and sometimes its the end best befitting of the character and sometimes its needed to move the narrative forward and sometimes its the only way a character would believably leave their story behind and sometimes it just spices things up a bit. sometimes its fun to watch characters die . sorry
counterpoint: usually people know that it’s good when a character dies and that’s how stories work but also being upset it and not wanting it to have happened IS the effect that the death is supposed to have, and it’s fine if people express that sentiment online. it doesn’t mean they are unaware of this fact or literally want a story where nothing bad happens to anyone ever
